I could probably start this with a snark about how “That 70’s Show” + the 1980s = fill in punchline here, but I’m not going to go there (even though I just did). Topher Grace made a 2011 post-adolescent romantic comedy called “Take Me Home Tonight” that takes place in 1989. But there’s no hot tub. Or time machine. Or irony. It’s like they found a copycat John Hughes script in a time capsule and decided to make the exact movie 22 years later. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. The trip down memory lane was fun. But weird.
