“The Company Men” (2010) is a good, simple movie, but it hits a little close to home for anybody who has been caught up in the wreckage of the American economy over the last couple of years. So beware if your idea of movie night is a chance to escape your troubles. This film holds a mirror up to them. It’s a character study of several different “types” of guys, cut-throat CEO, right-hand man, worked-his-way-up middle management, high-flying salesman (protagonist Ben Affleck), hard-working small business owner. Each has to face the recession’s challenges in his own way. Not everyone succeeds.
